During our check-in process we will have you sign a waiver (if this is your first time at the studio) and ask you to wash your hands. Some food and drinks will be provided.
4:30pm - Workshop 1: Moving with Self Awareness (Adv Beg)
“If you know what you are doing, you can do what you want. If you do not know what you are doing, you cannot do what you want.”– Feldenkrais
In this workshop, dancers will explore a technique to wake up muscles and fibers to perform basic patters with self awareness. These techniques will be expanded to more challenging patterns. The goal is to create a better independent relationship to be able to connect through the partnership.
5:30pm - Workshop 2: Teamwork to Develop a Language (Adv Beg)
“If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”– Booker T. Washington
In this second workshop, you will explore developing a language with your partner through a trusted connection. Sometimes this trusted connection develops into a magical connection with your partner.
6:30pm - Dinner Break (30 min)
Food and beverages will be provided. Feel free to bring any contribution to our dinner table.
7:00pm - Workshop 3: Listen Better, Dance Better (Adv Beg)
“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence in between.” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Music is what animates us and creates movement. In this workshop we will learn how to improve our awareness to the music and dance it within our body and through our partnership. We will give a special focus to the phrase changes to create a trusting cooperative spirit.
8:00-11:00pm - West Coast Swing Dance Party
Dance for fun or try what you learned. You're going to have a great time!
