SOPHIE CAZENEUVE
Professional Dancer, Movement and Dance Coach
I am a passionate dance instructor and movement coach, teaching since 2010. I’m known for my dedication to helping others connect through movement.
I started my dance journey in France, spending years performing in acrobatic swing, social dancing (Salsa, West Coast Swing, Rock’n Roll), and competing in International 10 Dance.
Always wanting to expand my knowledge and skills, I moved to New York City in 2010. I immersed myself in the city's vibrant dance scene and added American Rhythm and American Smooth to my expertise.
From the moment I dedicated my time to partner dancing at 16 yrs old, I’ve always been such a curious person, eager to discover new things about the connections in my body and mind. I have a deep, personal understanding and awareness surrounding my own nutrition and healthy eating habits, so I can speak comfortably with my clients on these topics.
I’m extremely committed to knowing and caring for myself and my students.
To continue and deepen my understanding of the body/mind connection, I certified as a 500-hour yoga teacher with YogaWorks in 2020. I not only pursue development but also aim to inspire my students toward healthier movement and, ultimately, a healthier mind.
Renowned for my expertise in teaching, performing, choreographing, and coaching, I am sought after for my ability to elevate dancers’ performance levels, whether in competitive, performance, or social environments. I offer private lessons and group classes in Manhattan.
Professional Dancer, NYC
When I came to NYC in 2010, I KNEW I wanted to dance. The natural order of things would be to find a business job to support my dance, but instead I found a dance job first. It snowballed from there - being between the ballroom and social dancing worlds, I’ve found recognition for doing it all.
I have had opportunities to tour on the Ballroom dancing circuit (a production led by the award-winning choreographer Michael Chapman), as well as dancing professionally Off-Broadway (directed by Kim Saint Leon & Ronny Dutra).
